Dave Holmes came to see Julie in Huddersfield in May 2009. At the end of May he e-mailed this note:

Hi Julie - David here, just to let you know I have stopped smoking for two weeks tomorrow. Feeling good. Thanks

And then a bit more in July:

Hi Julie

It’s over six weeks now since I stopped smoking with your help. I have also joined a gym! Don’t even think about cigs. 

It’s the easiest way of stopping smoking I’ve ever tried, and it’s nice having my doubters eat their words every time I see them!
