Dear Julie
I just wanted to say a BIG thank
you for helping me take control of my life. I have been smoking since I was 12, I am now 44. I have tried all the usual methods like will
power (yeah right), patches (ouch) gum and micro tabs (yuk). I’ve had varying degrees of success but none were permanent.
I came to see you on the
7th April this year and have not smoked since.
Although I was not a heavy smoker
I had always found it difficult to give up. I suspect because I am a bit of a loner, I do not have many friends and rarely socialise. I have
lots of interests but don’t generally have the time to indulge. I guess I thought smoking was my one pleasure, the one thing I could do for
myself, instead of for someone else.
Slowly over the last couple of
years I have, after sitting outside in the rain and the cold, begun to realise that I was not really enjoying smoking any more. I had outgrown
it and no longer needed it. I just couldn’t stop. I’m not even sure what the fear of stopping is, after all, if you fail you haven’t lost
anything you’re just back to square one and I’d been there many times before.
I came to see you, and, despite
reading the testimonials on your website that say they did not feel any different, I still expected some sort of miraculous enlightenment
which of course doesn’t happen.
I, like many others, left your
office wondering if it had worked or if I had just wasted my money.
It had been over 3 hours since my
last cigarette but I was not craving one. I was still not craving a cigarette that evening, or the next.
Gradually I began to realise that
it must be working. Although, in the beginning, I had some very fleeting moments of temptation, (usually after a meal), that’s all they were,
fleeting. Certainly not the cravings I had been used to in the past. They disappeared within seconds and soon abated altogether.
It will be four weeks tomorrow and
although I do understand how hypnosis works on the subconscious, I still find it difficult to believe that sitting in a chair and being
"talked at" for half an hour or so could have such a dramatic impact. To stop the habit of a lifetime in one fell swoop.
It really was that
easy.
As you know I have already
recommended your service (last I heard he had stopped too) and will continue to do so.
Many, many thanks and kind regards,
Gail
